Welcome
Hello! My name is Jen Haut-Prokop, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Minnesota (license #4366). I am fascinated by relationships of all kinds and feel honored and privileged to get to know people's stories. Welcome to my therapy practice.

My Background and Therapy Approach
We are all on a journey and we do not exist in isolation. We live in relationships with other people, and there are seasons in life that require reaching out for help. My approach to this work is to identify what has happened to you and the people in your life and how that has impacted you. I focus holistically on the whole person, utilizing strengths and support while naming the ways systems and relationships have influenced you.
My work is rooted in a commitment to social justice with focus on race and gender. I believe that each person I work with is the expert in their own life, and my goals are to create a safe therapeutic relationship where, together, you can explore your unique journey, focus on your inner strengths, and determine your dreams and goals. I draw from strengths-based, experiential, parts work, and attachment-focused theoretical orientations. Together, you will co-create what your therapeutic journey looks like.

In my therapy practice, I have experience working with adult clients focusing on a wide range of issues, including:
-
ADHD
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
-
Life transitions
-
Relationship and parenting challenges
-
Identity and career path
-
And more

I found my way to the mental health field through a winding path. I worked in the nonprofit world for over a decade focused on organizing and nonpartisan politics. After becoming a parent, I desired a change and wanted to work more closely in relationship with people. I often say the therapy world found me, and it is an honor to be invited in to the most vulnerable parts of people's lives.

Outside of therapy work, I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking and paddle-boarding with my partner, connecting with my tween through middle grade lit, and working my way through my to-be-read stack.
